Helen Chatterton is a professional knitter, educator, and textile maker currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She teaches a wide array of classes for the public to engage and learn about knitting, under the name Knit Happens.

In 2024, Helen hosted a set of workshops within Edinburgh's iconic Summerhall Arts Complex. She was in need of new promotional materials to advertise around the city ahead of the workshop season.
It was exciting to build a new colour palette inspired by project swatches right out of a knitting book, while remaining visually eye-catching for anyone engaging with the materials out in the world.

Simple icons, lines, and shapes that feel reminiscent of a well loved ball of yarn or line of stitches layers an organic quality into the work—in contrast to the delicate serif typeface of the program's name.
